AKFA Aluminum Solutions breaks ground on first U.S. manufacturing facility in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – AFKA Aluminum Solutions, an aluminum manufacturing company, broke ground on its first U.S. facility on Thursday morning.

According to the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, the groundbreaking marks a milestone in the Uzbekistani manufacturer’s operations in the United States.

AFKA is the first Uzbekistan-based company to operate in the United States.

The aluminum manufacturing company produces up to 100,000 tons of product annually, supplying materials for global markets including construction, transportation and renewable energy, according to the governor’s office.

AFKA announced its plan to construct the facility in December 2025.

According the Office of Governor Andy Beshear, the investment will create 331 new jobs.

The groundbreaking took place at the future site at 1309 Production Ave in Bowling Green.

Company leaders, state and local officials, including United States Senator Rand Paul (R), and regional economic development partners attended the event to celebrate the beginning of construction, according to the chamber.

Due to the conditions that have been established, we are in the final stages of securing funding from an American bank for the further implementation of the project. Warren County Judge Executive Doug Gorman noted the role this investment will play in supporting the county’s continued growth. “Warren County is honored to welcome AKFA Aluminum Solutions to our growing manufacturing base,” Gorman said. “Today’s groundbreaking is not just the start of a construction project—it’s the beginning of new opportunities for our residents, our workforce, and our local businesses. We are committed to supporting AKFA as they establish and expand their operations here.”
