2 arrested in connection with drug investigation in Magoffin County

MAGOFFIN COUNTY, Ky. – Two people are behind bars after a drug investigation in Magoffin County.

According to a social media post by the Magoffin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a complaint in the Jake Wireman community of Magoffin County regarding a male subject sitting in a vehicle in the driveway, potentially distributing illegal narcotics.

Upon arrival, deputies say they made contact with a juvenile at the front door, who then asked for his father. When the male subject approached the door and saw law enforcement, authorities say he fled into the back of the residence.

Authorities say they quickly entered the home and detained the fleeing subject.

Deputies say they then located methamphetamine, oxycodone and numerous syringes inside of a gray fanny pack in the individual’s possession.

According to authorities, they also discovered another male subject in the home who had an active warrant for his arrest.

Additional methamphetamine was found in the home, which the second male subject claimed ownership of, authorities say.

Both individuals were taken into custody without further incident.

According to uniform citations, the subjects were identified as 34-year-old Steven Gibson and 41-year-old Coleman Ingram.

Gibson is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, second-degree fleeing or evading police (on foot), endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Ingram is charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), endangering the welfare of a minor, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and possession of marijuana.
