Barren County Judicial Center construction continues on schedule

GLASGOW, Ky. (Glasgow News 1) – A recent report by Glasgow News 1 is sharing the latest progress on the Barren County Judicial Center.

According to Glasgow News 1, the Project Development Board says the structure, located in Glasgow, is on schedule to be completed in 2028.

The report further states during a meeting on April 29, board members learned construction is going smoothly, with no expected delays on the timeline at this current time.

So far, the report says the majority of the work has been underground. However, board members were told visible construction is about to start, according to the report.

In addition, Glasgow News 1 reports multiple change orders are part of the progress or under evaluation, including “termite control, a deduction related to door hardware cores being supplied by the owner and potential credits tied to removing unused gun lockers and adjusting fencing and gate plans requested late in the design phase.”

According to the report, a representative stated the “current substantial completion date under the contract is April 17, 2028.”

Glasgow News 1 stays Vice President and Chief Operation Officer Tim Geegan with Alliance Corporation says the timeline has the potential to change if any future change orders impact the schedule, however, board members were advised those impacts are not expected currently.
