Man charged with terroristic threatening after deputies respond to local church

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man faces charges after fleeing police at a church.

According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded to a church on Louisville Road to a disturbance complaint on Tuesday evening.

The victim told deputies that 43-year-old Darryll Childs of Bowling Green grabbed them by the throat and possessed a firearm.

A deputy says Childs did not comply with commands and ran up a staircase with his hand in the front waistband of his pants.

Childs continued into a common room and dropped a firearm, according to the citation.

Deputies say they continued to pursue Childs outside of the church, where a deputy took him into custody.

The victim told deputies that Childs grabbed them by the neck and threw them to the ground. Childs allegedly threatened to shoot the victim.

Childs is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, third-degree fleeing or evading police, tampering with physical evidence, fourth-degree assault (no visible injury), third-degree criminal trespassing and third-degree terroristic threatening.

Childs was lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail
