WKU Board of Regents approves public-private partnership transaction for $350 million “Elevate WKU” student housing partnership

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A major residence project at Western Kentucky University is moving forward.

According to a release, the WKU Board of Regents approved a public-private $350 million residential partnership with Gilbane Development Company and its affiliates for the operation, management, and improvement of the University’s residential planning on April 24.

The residential investment is the largest in the university’s history, according to the release.

WKU says the partnership will modernize aging campus housing, utilizing a long-term ground lease with the national 501(c) (3) organization Collegiate Housing Foundation (CHF).

CHF will serve as the project’s owner and borrower, according to the release.
