TVA announces new interim President and CEO

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Valley Authority Board of Directors announced new leadership on Friday.

Mike Skaggs, who has more than 40 years of experience in the utility industry, was selected by the board to serve as interim President and CEO, according to a release.

Skaggs previously served as Chief Operating Officer from 2018 to 2021.

TVA says Skagges was a key figure in the startup of Watts Bar Nuclear Plant Unit 2, the recovery of Browns Ferry Unit 1 and the successful management of two major steam generator replacement projects.

According to a release, Skaggs joined TVA in 1994 as a project manager and also served in executive leadership positions.
