2 Metcalfe students announced as winners in statewide essay contest
METCALFE COUNTY, Ky. – Two Metcalfe County students are being recognized as winners in a statewide essay and post contest.
According to a social media post by Metcalfe County Schools, the two winners of the 2026 Kentucky Department of Agriculture, Ag Education and Outreach Poster and Essay Contest are first-grader Cason Shaw and second-grader Reagan Morgan.
Both are students at Metcalfe County Elementary School, according to the district.
The district says both students submitted statewide winning essays.
The students will be recognized during an awards ceremony in May.
