Family Enrichment Center hosts Fore Our Kids Golf Scramble
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – On Monday, the Family Enrichment Center hosted its third annual Fore Our Kids golf scramble.
The fundraiser aims to raise $30,000 to support the center’s early childhood program called “Parents as Teachers.”
Organizers say more than 100 golfers took part in the event.
The tournament also featured mini games on the course, giving participants a chance to win prizes.
The mini games included a closest to the pin contest, rolling a dice to determine which club to use and “beat the pro.”
Along with raising money, the nonprofit says the event helps bring awareness to child safety in the community.
“Volunteering is participating in events like this. It’s giving funds, but it’s also just about sharing the message that, when you see something, you gotta do something about it. We help support families and support people in doing that work,” said Family Enrichment Center Executive Director Nicki Jones.
Jones also talked about the impact the community has on the family enrichment center and events like Monday’s golf scramble.
“We’re just really grateful for a very giving community, one that just comes out and supports. We have so many great sponsors and individuals here today that are helping us in that effort,” she said.
