Man arrested after wreck in front of Rusty’s Lakeside Pub

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – One man is behind bars after a wreck in front of Rusty’s Lakeside Pub on Thursday.
According to a uniform citation, the Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded Thursday afternoon to the 10000 block of New Glasgow Road near the local business regarding a collision with possible injuries.
Authorities say upon arrival, they observed a commercial vehicle off of the right shoulder of the road with severe front end damage.
Deputies say an overturned SUV was about 100 feet away.
According to deputies, two occupants of the SUV were lying on the ground nearby.
Authorities say a female driver had severe injuries from the collision. When asked what happened, authorities say the driver stated a male “jerked the wheel.”
Deputies say the passenger, identified as 35-year-old Daniel Wilson of Westmoreland, Tennessee, was unable to provide “a consistent account of the events.”
Wilson allegedly stated there was a verbal argument before the wreck and stated he was unsure if he had jerked the steering wheel.
Authorities say video surveillance from the restaurant showed the commercial vehicle traveling southbound and the SUV traveling northbound, with the SUV suddenly swerving.
Deputies say the commercial vehicle then struck the SUV.
According to authorities, a witness stated Wilson said he had “jerked the wheel” out of the driver’s hand and that he “didn’t mean to.”
Wilson was arrested and charged with first-degree assault (domestic violence) and first-degree wanton endangerment. He remains at the Allen County Detention Center.
