Bowling Green Police Department reminds residents to register bicycles

BOWLING GREEN, Ky – The Bowling Green Police Department is reminding residents to register their bicycles.

Police encourage cyclists to sign up for the department’s bicycle registry, which can help officers recover lost or stolen bikes and return them to their owners faster.

To register, residents only need their bike’s serial number, which can be entered into the department’s database.

“We do get a lot of bicycles turned in to the police department every year, and many of those bikes are not able to be connected back to their owners. But we would say if it returns even one, then it’s worth the effort of having the registry,” said Bowling Green Police Department Public Information Officer Ronnie Ward.
