The puppies were located safely and taken to a veterinarian for evaluation. Both puppies tested positive for Parvovirus.

Officials say the puppies were not located in the designated dog park area.

According to the release, the city is working with veterinarians and the Barren River Animal Welfare Association to ensure precautionary measures.

The city is advising residents not to bring their dogs to the park if they are not up to date on vaccinations.
