Glasgow couple wins $551,151 Kentucky Lottery prize

GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow couple is hundreds of thousands of dollars richer.

According to the Kentucky Lottery, James and Tammy Milby, of Glasgow, recently claimed a jackpot playing Kentucky Lottery’s $20 Big Money Doubler! Fast Play game.

James told the Kentucky Lottery that he purchased Scratch-offs for several years before switching to Fast Play eight or nine months ago at the request of his grandson.

“My grandson was watching me and he told me, ‘Papaw, it’s just like a Scratch-off, only you don’t scratch!’” James laughed. “So, I started trying them instead of Scratch-offs. I’d been watching that game and figured it was bound to be hit some time or another.”

The Milbys told the Kentucky Lottery that they went to South Green Market in Glasgow for a drink. While at the gas station, they decided to play.

The couple takes home $399,584.47 after taxes.
