Barren County road project underway, turn lanes and passing lanes to be added

BARREN COUNTY – A roadway construction project continues in Barren County.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3, improvements to a 9-mile section of KY 90 Happy Valley Road corridor between Cave City and Glasgow are underway.

The project limits are Sanders Street (mile point 0.2) and U.S. 68 Veterans Outer Loop (mile point 8.5).

The project will add turn lanes and additional passing lanes throughout the corridor.

KYTC says delays and slower traffic should be expected.

Drainage improvements, guardrail work, shoulder improvements, passing lane extensions, and vegetation trimming are included in the project.

The project is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2026.
