Hart County man receives 30-year sentence for child sex crimes

MUNFORDVILLE, Ky. – A Hart County man will serve three decades in prison following a child sexual abuse investigation.
According to a release from the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office and Hart County Commonwealth’s Attorney, 25-year-old Christopher Hawkins, of Hardyville, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Friday.
Hawkins pleaded guilty to use of a minor in sexual performance (class B felony), distribution of matter portraying sexual performance by a minor under 12 (class B felony) and three counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12 (class C felony).
Hawkins will serve thirty years in prison and must register as a sex offender. He cannot have contact with the victim, according to a release.
The investigation began after a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Hawkins was arrested in 2025 at a Hardyville residence and later admitted to sexually abusing a 5-year-old. Hawkins recorded video of the abuse.
The Attorney General’s Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) investigated the case with support from the Hart County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky Office of Homeland Security. Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Brooke Talley prosecuted the case.
