WKU LifeSkills Center for Child Welfare Education and Research hosts Child Welfare Expo

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Western Kentucky University’s LifeSkills Center for Child Welfare Education and Research hosted its annual Child Welfare Expo at the Knicely Conference Center.

It features an opportunity to connect with local resources that help children in our community, for both residents and WKU students.

This year’s keynote speaker was Miss Kentucky 2025 Ariana Rodriguez, a foster child herself.

She shared her experiences in helping people in her community and honoring those who do the same.

Three awards were also presented during the evening: the LCCWEAR Student Award for Child Welfare Advocacy, the Angela Turner Community Award for Outstanding Leadership in Child Welfare, and the Dr. Austin Griffiths Service Before Self Award.
