BARDSTOWN, Ky. (K105) – A Bardstown High School teacher is behind bars after alleged sexual contact involving a student.

According to a report by K105, the Bardstown Police Department arrested 31-year-old Mary “Hanna” Mattingly and charged her with first-degree sexual abuse and procuring or promoting use of a minor by electronic means.

Authorities say this follows an investigation that discovered Mattingly “engaged in sexual contact with a high school student.”

In addition, the suspect “had communication with the same student” where Mattingly sent the student “partially nude photographs,” according to police.

Mattingly was arrested Monday morning. She remains at the Nelson County Detention Center.
