WCSO reminds community of ongoing jury duty scam

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – The Warren County Sheriff’s Office is sharing information on a reoccurring phone scam.
Deputies say a caller claiming to be a Warren County sheriff’s deputy is asking for payments for an individual having missed jury duty.
The sheriff’s office says a warrant cannot be settled by paying them. This includes the use of gift cards, cryptocurrency or credit card numbers.
In addition, authorities say they will not call community members if they have missed jury duty. The calls often use the names of actual sheriff’s office employees and may even spoof the sheriff’s office’s number.
Authorities ask not to give out your personal information.
If you have concerns about being scammed, call the WCSO with any concerns at (270) 842-1633.
