BGFD holding officer training with firefighters from across region
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Fire Department is hosting officer training, featuring many different firefighters from around the area.
24 members of the Bowling Green Fire Department are being joined by 19 firefighters from around the area, learning leadership skills to help them captain their crews.
Firefighters are participating from Paducah, Owensboro, Henderson and even Indiana.
Battalion Chief Craig White says these skills are crucial for safety and effective response in the field.
“The leadership stuff and the team building skills and then tactical skills as far as being proficient and all that are all paramount to them performing their job duties and ensuring that the crew… they’re in charge of the entire crew when they’re on it… and all those skills are paramount to ensuring public safety and making sure that their guys get back home safely,” White says.
