Sherwin-Williams Bowling Green plant expands to meet roofing demands

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WNKY) – A household name in paint is expanding its Bowling Green manufacturing facility, according to a release.

Sherwin-Williams announced Monday, March 23 that it has completed expansion of its coil coatings plant to keep up with the growing demand in the metal roofing and construction industries. 

According to a release, the expansion will add about 16 new jobs and increase production capacity by 60-percent.

The company says it will boost manufacturing speed and enhance safety and quality control. 

“The market in roofing and siding continues to grow significantly,” said Drew Waldroup, Vice President of Sales for Sherwin-Williams. “This expansion represents smart manufacturing and planning that allows us to keep pace with that growth and meet the needs of our customers while delivering on our value proposition of fast, reliable service.”

The growth is expected to enhance flexibility, decrease potential delays and replace several manual processes with automated ones, according to a release.

“This investment reflects our long-term commitment to Bowling Green and to the customers we serve,” said Karl Jorgenrud, President of Sherwin-Williams Performance Coatings Group.

This year marks 32 years of operation for the Bowling Green Plant.
