Additional arrest made in University Boulevard shooting investigation

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – An additional arrest has been made in connection with a reported shooting on University Boulevard that left one person dead.
According to a uniform citation, on Monday, Bowling Green police arrested 23-year-old Luis Angel Lira Duron on a charge of complicity to murder, the third arrest in this case.
Authorities say the arrest follows after officers responded on Feb. 15 to assist Western Kentucky University police for a shooting investigation off of the 300 block of University Boulevard.
Police say it was determined a victim, identified as Diego Andres Lopez-Urdaneta, sustained a gunshot to the head. The victim was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green and was later taken to Skyline Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead the next day.
Authorities say a vehicle on surveillance footage had followed the victim’s truck for “roughly 10 minutes” before the shooting.
On Feb. 25, authorities say they spoke to Duron, who they say admitted to driving the vehicle the night of the incident.
Police say Duron stated he had been at Club Havana earlier that night and that an altercation had taken place between one of the passengers and the victim, according to the citation.
In addition, police say Duron eventually admitted he followed the victim’s vehicle.
Previously, police say 20-year-old Christopher Mesa Ramirez had been arrested for driving the vehicle at the time of the shooting.
Through further investigation, police say Jason Aguero Lopez was identified as the individual who allegedly fired the gun. Lopez was taken into custody with assistance from the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
After Lopez and Ramirez were taken into custody, police say they were notified the victim had died.
The charges against all three individuals are now complicity to murder. Police say Lopez’ charges are expected to be amended to murder.
All three remain at the Warren County Regional Jail.
