Tennessee couple arrested, drugs found after alleged altercation at The Mint

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A Tennessee couple is behind bars after a reported altercation at The Mint Gaming Hall in Franklin.

According to a uniform citation, the Franklin Police Department responded Sunday to The Mint Gaming Hall off of Nashville Road in Franklin regarding a physical fight in progress.

Police say security at The Mint advised a man was physically fighting with security.

Authorities say upon arrival, security had the male, identified as 35-year-old Derrick Bradley of Nashville, Tennessee, held on the ground.

Bradley was placed into handcuffs. Police say Bradley smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages and appeared heavily intoxicated.

Bradley was placed under arrest.

While searching Bradley, police say they found methamphetamine and cocaine, along with over $400 in his possession.

Police say K-9 Rico then gave a positive alert on the vehicle Bradley had arrived in.

Authorities say a vehicle search led to the discovery of marijuana, a handgun, digital scales and additional currency. Officers say they confirmed the handgun was stolen out of Nashville.

Bradley remains at the Simpson County Jail on charges of alcohol intoxication in a public place, first and second offense, second-degree disorderly conduct, fourth-degree assault (no visible injury), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (4 grams or greater of cocaine), possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess and possession of marijuana.

In addition, 40-year-old Terrika West of Ashland City, Tennessee, who had arrived with Bradley, was arrested on charges of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine), first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (4 grams or greater of cocaine), trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces), first offense, and receiving stolen property (firearm).
