Russellville man arrested following traffic stop

RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Russellville man is facing multiple charges following a traffic stop Wednesday.
According to a uniform citation, the Russellville Police Department stopped a vehicle for a taillight infraction and an improper registration plate.
Authorities say upon contact, they could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Police say the driver, 24-year-old Nathan Holland of Russellville, stated he had smoked marijuana that day but did denied having it in the car.
Authorities say they did not locate illegal substances during a vehicle search.
According to police, they then found cocaine in Holland’s possession, along with a Diazepam pill and clear bag near Holland once he was placed into a police cruiser. Police say the items were not in the vehicle beforehand.
Holland was transported to the Logan County Detention Center.
He faces charges of third-degree possession of a controlled substance – drug unspecified, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (cocaine) and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
