City of Bowling Green and Warren County proclaim February 11th as 211 Day

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green and Warren County officially proclaimed February 11th as 211 Day.

211 is a free hotline anyone in the community can call to connect with local resources.

In 2025, United Way of Southern Kentucky spent more than 100,000 minutes helping over 11,000 people who reached out for assistance.

Mayor Todd Alcott, Deputy Judge Executive Bryan Downing and City Commissioner Melinda Hill all say the hotline is a valuable resource, and United Way says partnerships with the city and county help strengthen the community.

“We definitely appreciate them officially making today 211 Day. It means a lot to have their support, and just knowing that the government recognizes the importance of this resource. We so appreciate having them,” Megan Henness, United Way of Southern Kentucky’s director of 211 operations, says.

You can call 211 at any time for anyone. United Way hopes the community is able to spread awareness of this resource so everyone in the community can find what they need.
