2 puppies abandoned on Christmas night at Lexington animal care and control

LEXINGTON, Ky. – On Christmas morning, two puppies were found abandoned in Lexington without food or water, according to Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control.
That’s according to a Facebook post by the organization.
The animal care and control group says its staff discovered the puppies had been left on the organization’s property overnight without food, water or appropriate shelter.
The post states no one had arranged for the animals’ care.
Two people were spotted dumping the puppies and did not try to contact animal care and control to bring them inside, according to the post.
“We have an officer on duty and answering calls 24/7 for emergencies. There is absolutely no excuse for this behavior. Abandoning animals is not only cruel—it is illegal,” states Lexington-Fayette Animal Care and Control.
If you have any information regarding those responsible, you may contact a cruelty investigator at 859-255-9033, extension 229.
