GLASGOW, Ky.- On Tuesday evening in Glasgow, Glenview Christian Church held its annual live nativity event on the day before Christmas Eve to get everyone in the holiday spirit and remind them about the true meaning of Christmas.

Members of the Glasgow community came out to enjoy the live nativity and learn more about the story behind the holiday.

Along with the nativity, there were train rides for the kids, cookies and hot chocolate, and even a petting zoo to enjoy.

With all of the big events going on this time of year, the church likes to put this one on to remind everyone what the holiday is all about.

“There’s so many other things going on that are lots of fun each year. But we want to make sure that people know that Christmas is about Jesus and to give a unique opportunity for our community to experience the real meaning of Christmas.” Said David Mackie, Lead Pastor at Glenview Christian Church.

The church has done this annually for around six years now and the event grows with each year.

The live nativity has become somewhat of a community tradition for Glasgow as it has gotten bigger and better while continuing to remember the true meaning of the holiday.

“I think it’s really important we’ve seen this grow. Each year, I think the amount of people that come out and most people seem to come back and I think it’s just becoming now a family tradition and a community tradition, which I’m excited about.” Mackie added.

The event gives the community in Glasgow a great opportunity to come together and enjoy one another while remembering what Christmas is all about.
