Allen County-Scottsville High School holds “Patriot Pantry” Drive-Thru

SCOTTSVILLE, Ky. – Allen County–Scottsville High School hosted its “Patriot Pantry” drive-thru event Monday, providing food assistance to members of the community in need.
ACS partnered with Feeding America to operate the Patriot Pantry, which is available to anyone in the community who may need help accessing food. Typically, families can call the school to schedule an appointment to visit the pantry and receive supplies.
However, as food shortages began impacting the area last month, the district decided to expand access by hosting drive-thru distribution events, allowing more residents to receive assistance in a convenient way.
The school plans to hold two drive-thru pantry events each month. Both will take place Monday afternoons and last two hours. Community members are encouraged to call ahead to reserve a time slot, just as they would for an appointment.
With Christmas approaching, school officials say resources like the Patriot Pantry are especially important, not only to provide food, but also to help families meet other basic needs.
“So we want to make sure that we’re providing resources to meet the basic needs of our students and our families,” said Trey Harper, HR Director for Allen County Schools. “We make sure that we have food available, but also any other basic resources that they might need as well.”
Anyone interested in scheduling an appointment or learning more about the Patriot Pantry can contact the Allen County–Scottsville Family Resource Center at (270) 622-3311.
