The Salvation Army of Bowling Green to host 2025 Christmas kick-off event

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Salvation Army of Bowling Green is welcoming the Christmas season with its annual Christmas Kickoff on Thursday, Nov. 20.

The event is scheduled for 3 p.m. at The Salvation Army at 400 W. Main Ave. in Bowling Green.

This year, the celebration marks the beginning of the “Battle of the Bells” competition, where well-known community leaders will face off at kettles to raise funds for families in need.

2025 Battle of the Bells matchups will include the following:

  • Rob Clayton, superintendent, Warren County Public Schools vs. Gary Fields, superintendent, Bowling Green Independent School District.
  • Sheriff Brett Hightower, Warren County Sheriff’s Office vs. chief Michael Delaney, Bowling Green Police Department.
  • Judge executive Doug Gorman, Warren County vs. mayor Todd Alcott, City of Bowling Green.
