First Gen Conference hosted by Student Support Services Disability Program at WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Student Support Services Disability Program at Western Kentucky University is teaming up with the First-Generation Initiative to host a leadership conference for first-gen students.

This year’s theme is “Unlock Your First-Gen Power,” and it uses a superhero lens to celebrate strength, resilience and leadership.

Organizers expect about 75 students attended, with four tracks focused on student wellness, college success, career and grad school readiness and financial literacy.

Students also had the chance to check out a resource fair and win some prizes.
