Family Enrichment Center launches new program for Run & Walk for Children

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Family Enrichment Center has launched a new program for the 30th annual Run & Walk for Children.

According to the nonprofit, the new program invites members of the community to serve as advocates and champions for the Run & Walk for Children and FEC’s mission.

Ambassadors will help raise awareness, encourage participation and support fundraising efforts to benefit the Family Enrichment Center’s prevention programs that give critical early intervention for south-central Kentucky children and families.

“Every ambassador will bring their own story and energy to this effort,” said Nickie Jones, executive director of the Family Enrichment Center. “When people come together for a cause bigger than themselves, we strengthen the foundation every child and family needs to thrive.”

The nonprofit says ambassadors will be chosen for four categories, which include Youth Ambassador for students grades six through eight, High School Ambassador, College Fitness Influencer and Adult Ambassador.

Ambassadors will receive exclusive race perks, promotional tools and special recognition leading up to and during the event.

In return, Family Enrichment Center says ambassadors will share their enthusiasm for the Run & Walk for Children by promoting registration, recruiting teams and spreading the word across social media, workplaces and community networks.

Scheduled for March 28, 2026, the Run & Walk for Children is one of the Family Enrichment Center’s cornerstone fundraising events, drawing hundreds of participants each year to celebrate family, fitness and community spirit.

The event includes a half marathon, 5K run, 5k walk and free kids one mile run. Proceeds from the event directly support early intervention programs that protect children during their most vulnerable stage of development, specifically, Wee Care Childcare Center.
