BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing several drug charges.

Bowling Green Police Department Public Information Officer Ronnie Ward says officers responded to the 500 block of Cherokee Drive to a domestic assault complaint on Saturday.

Ward says the suspect, Joseph Coghill, 60, of Bowling Green, fled the scene before officers arrived.

Officers received a burglary in progress complaint in the 800 block of College Street while searching for Coghill.

Officers say the witness provided a description that matched Coghill.

When officers arrived at the scene of the alleged burglary, they located Coghill near the building. He sustained an injury from allegedly breaking through the front door.

Officers say they located a bag in the bed of Coghill’s truck that contained a large amount of suspected marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.

A search warrant was obtained for Coghill’s home after speaking with the assault victim.

Police say they located a suspected homemade psychedelic mushroom grow operation, a large amount of cash, and multiple firearms with ammunition.
