Motorcycle Crash

OWENSBORO, Ky. – An Owensboro man has died following a motorcycle wreck in Daviess County.

According to the Kentucky State Police, a fatal collision occurred Tuesday evening on Carter Road in Owensboro.

Around 8:42 p.m., troopers say they were patrolling Carter Road when they located a collision on Carter Road near the U.S. 60 Bypass off-ramp.

During a preliminary investigation, authorities say they learned a 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by 32-year-old Tyler Hamilton of Owensboro was traveling southbound on Carter Road when he did not stop for a red traffic light at the U.S. 60 Bypass off-ramp.

Troopers say a 2023 Toyota Tacoma driven by 22-year-old Dylan Cook of Philpot was turning northbound onto Carter Road from the off-ramp when Hamilton’s motorcycle struck the driver’s side bed of Cook’s vehicle.

Hamilton was ejected from the motorcycle, troopers say. Hamilton was later transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital, where he died due to his injuries.

Cook and his passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated on scene by emergency medical personnel.

The investigation is ongoing. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, Owensboro Police Department, Daviess County Fire Department and Daviess County Emergency Medical Services.
