Oh, DEER! Local agencies rescue deer from sinkhole

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Oh, DEER!

According to the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society, an individual arrived at the shelter to report that a young deer had fallen into a 15-foot sinkhole on Saturday afternoon.

Humane Society staff, along with the Bowling Green Fire Department and Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, responded to the scene.

The Bowling Green Fire Department states that the deer was administered a sedative, which allowed responders to remove the deer from the sinkhole safely.

The deer was not injured and was released back into the wild.
