Road improvement project set to begin in Barren County

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A road improvement project is just days away from beginning in Barren County.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 says the project will impact a nine-mile portion of the Kentucky 90 Happy Valley Road corridor in Barren County.
Construction will be done in phases along the route between Cave City and Glasgow.
Transportation officials say the project represents a more than $6.5 million investment in infrastructure improvements in Barren County on KY 90. In particular, officials say the project will stretch from Sanders Street to U.S. 68 Veterans Outer Loop.
This will add alternating passing lanes, along with new turn lanes at different points, drainage improvement work, guardrail work, shoulder improvements, passing lane extensions and vegetation trimming.
Construction is expected to begin in Monday, Oct. 6
