Glasgow police to conduct traffic safety checkpoints this month

GLASGOW, Ky. – The Glasgow Police Department is hosting traffic safety checkpoints through Oct. 31.
According to Glasgow police, the checkpoints will begin this Friday and continue through the end of the month.
The checkpoints will include but not be limited to Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.
During the checkpoints, officers say they will be enforcing laws regarding operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations.
Checkpoints are used throughout Kentucky to help promote roadway safety, authorities say.
