Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association holding conference in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The annual Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association Conference is going on in Bowling Green this week, and we were able to stop by while a guest speaker shared stories with the sheriffs.

The conference runs through September 12th at the Sloan Convention Center, with Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower saying 113 of the 120 sheriffs in Kentucky are in attendance.

The focus for this session was on making sure they have a strong belief system and supporting those in the community.

The sheriffs also heard from a former sheriff in Pasco County, Florida who talked about his service and what shaped him into who he is today.

“We’ve done things that we look back in our life that we’re not proud of, but I think that there is this alignment that we have to have with our creator. There’s a belief system. I don’t know how people go through what law enforcement officers go through without a strong foundation,” retired sheriff Bob White says.

He also adds it’s important to share love to those in the community that these sheriffs serve.
