HARDIN COUNTY, Ky. – The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office is clarifying concerns about door-to-door solicitors claiming to represent Terminix.

According to the sheriff’s office, there are two separate Terminix offices – one national Terminix office and one operated out of Bowling Green.

Authorities say the information they initially received Friday morning from the national office stated there were no representatives in the area and that they do not conduct business in this way.

However, the sheriff’s office says the local office out of Bowling Green does use contracted employees who go door-to-door to offer services, and they have been in the area.

Authorities further state they have been in contact with the district manager and have shared community concerns based on an original report and comments. According to the sheriff’s office, it has stated that all personnel should be instructed to leave immediately if asked to do so or if the homeowner declines their services.

If you do encounter a solicitor from the company who is being aggressive, harassing you or refusing to leave your property when asked to do so, you may contact Hardin County Sheriff’s Office at 270-765-5133 or call 911 if you feel unsafe.

If you would like to report concerns directly about Terminix’s practices, you may reach the local company at 270-391-4569.

The district manager stated their salesman are no longer in Hardin County, authorities say.
