Man sentenced in federal drug case

United States District Judge Greg Stivers has sentenced Charles Henry Ickes, to 280 months in prison followed by 10 years supervised release.

Following a two-day trial in March, a federal jury found Ickes was found guilty of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine.

The evidence introduced during trial showed that Ickes was the source of supply for 100% pure crystal methamphetamine being shipped to the Bowling Green area from California. Law enforcement officials became aware of the drug trafficking when a united states priority mail package was intercepted. Officials continued to monitor further delivery after which Ickes was arrested.

There is no parole in the federal criminal justice system, and he must serve at least 85% of the sentence before consideration for discharge.

Ickes remains in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending designation by the Bureau of Prisons.
