(CNN) – Some college students should avoid taking a certain appliance into their dorm rooms this fall.

Roughly 634,000 Frigidaire-branded minifridges are being recalled.

A U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission notice states that internal electrical components can short-circuit and ignite the appliance’s plastic housing, posing a potential fire hazard.

At least 26 related incidents were reported to importer Curtis International.

Those resulted in more than $700,0000 in property damage.

The fridges were sold nationwide from 2020 through 2023 at Walmart stores, Walmart online and Amazon.

Consumers are advised to stop using the appliances, dispose of them and follow instructions online for a refund.
