Gov. Andy Beshear orders flags to half-staff on June 13 in honor of 2 servicemembers

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Andy Beshear has ordered flags at all state buildings lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday, June 13 in honor of a Kentucky soldier and a Marine being interred in Hopkinsville.
According to the governor’s office, U.S. Army Pfc. Tyler Ray, 34, of Louisville died Saturday, May 24, while serving on active duty. Officials say Ray was assigned to Company C, 2nd Battalion, 504th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Ray’s family will honor his life with a private service.
U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Joshua Guzman-Henao, 23, of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Monday, May 26, while serving on active duty. Guzman-Henao was stationed at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Funeral services for Guzman-Henao will take place at the Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville on Friday, with interment to follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
