Bowling Green man charged with terroristic threatening

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges after allegedly threatening to kill a woman.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded to an apartment around 5:16 p.m. Monday regarding a harassment complaint due to a male threatening a female subject in the apartment with a gun.

Police say they spoke to the caller, who stated 44-year-old Marquis Burton of Bowling Green was inside the apartment with the gun.

Officers say they instructed Burton to exit the apartment. Authorities say he came out without incident and was detained.

Police say they found the gun in the kitchen.

Authorities say a female subject stated Burton had been kicking the door trying to enter the apartment. According to police, she stated she allowed him to go inside the home, where an argument took place.

Authorities say the female subject stated Burton took out a gun during this time and put it in her face, threatening to kill her while a minor was nearby.

Police say she stated Burton had also held a gun to her neck on a separate day, pushed her and strangled her, threatening to kill her.

Burton was arrested and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

He is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, first-degree strangulation (non-domestic violence) and third-degree terroristic threatening.
