Ford recalls 550,000 vehicles due to airbag, structure issues

(CNN) – Ford is recalling more than 550,000 vehicles due to airbag and structural issues that could increase the risk of a crash or injury.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported two notices on May 27. The recalls cover model years 2016, 2017 and 2025.
The first recall covers more than 63,000 Ford Mavericks that may have an airbag indicator light that can become loose or dislodged.
People in the vehicle may not know if the passenger airbag is on or off, increasing the risk of an injury.
The second recall is for 492,000 Ford Explorers. The issue is for driver and front passenger b-pillar door trim that may detach while driving.
That’s the piece of door trim that covers the frame separating the front and backseat windows.
A piece that comes loose and flies-off becomes a debris hazard in the road for other vehicles.
