Retailer’s random pick lands Louisville man a $75,000 scratch-off win

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A Louisville man is celebrating a $75,000 Kentucky Bourbon Trail Scratch-off win.
According to lottery officials, the winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared the exciting details of his win and his method of picking the ticket.
The Kentucky Lottery says the lottery player recounted how he bought the winning $5 Scratch-off from a Louisville retailer.
Instead of choosing a specific ticket number, officials say he let fate guide his selection.
“I watched wherever his hand went first,” he explained, allowing the clerk behind the counter to guide his choice. “That’s the one I was going to pick.”
The decision proved to be a lucky one. Lottery officials say the man planned to buy a different ticket but changed his mind when he realized he didn’t have the money for his preferred choice and two drinks.
The man scratched the ticket at home, revealing the prize of $75,000.
With a smile, officials say he called his wife and shared the news.
The man plans to use some of his winnings for he and his wife to travel. “I am going to buy my wife an RV,” he shared. “She wants to travel. I would like a nice motorcycle, but nah, it ain’t about me all the time.”
After taxes, the man received a check for $54,000. The Louisville retailer, Market Zone, will receive $750 for selling the winning ticket.
