Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky hosts mid year update for nonprofits

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Women’s Fund of South Central Kentucky held a mid-year update, where the two organizations that received grants from the fund are able to talk about the great things they’re doing in the community.

The Hive and House on the Hill talked about what the grants they received have gone towards, which also gives new members a chance to learn more about what the Women’s Fund is doing.

House on the Hill executive director Joel Hawkins talks about one of the things the funds go towards: their transitional housing program.

“What we have found so far is that we’ve got families who are ready for transitional housing, for the guest house program and putting them into the emergency guest house program would just create another transition for them. So instead of transitioning them from one thing into another, we’ve transitioned all of them right into the transitional housing program,” Hawkins says.

Both organizations are grateful to the Women’s Fund for helping them further serve the Bowling Green area and surrounding communities.
