Bowling Green Housing Authority seeking donations after fire displaces families

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Housing Authority is asking for donations after a fire forced four families out of their homes last week.

In the early morning hours of Thursday last week, a fire was reported at 1111 Angora Court, where a residential building had caught fire. Luckily, all people and pets were safely evacuated, but the fire, smoke and water damage took their toll and destroyed many appliances, pieces of furniture and other everyday household items.

Katie Miller with the Bowling Green House Authority says if you have anything to donate to please do so.

Miller says, “Couches are a big need. You know, love seats or recliners, dining room tables, small appliances, whether it be microwaves, can openers, blenders, things like that that, you know, you don’t really think about. But we did have two units that were completely destroyed and dishes, towels, things like that. Just your everyday household items that sometimes you don’t think about that you need.”

If you would like to donate, you can contact the Bowling Green Housing Authority at 270-843-6071.
