Kentucky Fish and Wildlife public hunting areas affected by flooding

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Due to recent weather events, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is warning the public that hunting areas may be impacted for the spring turkey season.
According to fish and wildlife officials, spring turkey turkey season lasts from April 12 through May 4. Officials say high waters may affect access to some areas and hunting opportunities.
In western Kentucky, fish and wildlife says nearly every wildlife management area has been affected by high water. Hunters may notice parking lots and access points completely submerged.
Hunters are encouraged to scout impacted areas during daylight hours and to prioritize safety.
The WMAs located in western and central Kentucky affected most by flooding include:

- Big Rivers WMA
- Blackford Oaks WMA
- Boatwright WMA
- Clear Creek WMA
- Coil Estate WMA
- Doug Travis WMA
- Ferguson Creek WMA
- Harris-Dickerson WMA

- Kaler Bottoms WMA
- Kentucky River WMA
- L.B. Davison
- Lake Barkley WMA
- Nolin River Lake WMA
- Obion Creek WMA
- Ohio River Islands WMA
- Rolling Fork WMA
- Sloughs WMA
- Taylorsville Lake WMA
- West Kentucky WMA
- Winford WMA
- Yellowbank WMA
Drivers should not attempt to drive through high water, even if that area is not blocked. Officials also advise not to drive around barricades or other devices blocking traffic.
