Tennessee man charged with unlawful imprisonment in Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is behind bars after an alleged case of unlawful imprisonment in Bowling Green.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded Wednesday morning to the 1000 block of Boatlanding Road.
Police say a victim stated a subject, identified as 34-year-old Jessie Wardlow of Madison, Tennessee, referred to himself as “Zone” and asked her to leave her home and ride in the car with him.
The victim stated Wardlow told her they would ride to a gas station near Russellville Road and Morgantown Road, police say.
Authorities say the victim stated she complied, however, when Wardlow began driving, he did not go to a gas station.
Police say the victim stated she said she “wanted to go home,” however, Wardlow replied that he would take her home when he wants to.
The citation states the victim stated she feared for her safety and rolled the window down to exit the vehicle while it was still moving. Police say the victim stated Wardlow struck her in the face and stopped her from escaping the vehicle.
According to the citation, the victim stated that, after several hours, Wardlow brought her to a brick house.
The victim stated she followed Wardlow into the home due to fear of telling Wardlow “no.”
Police say the victim stated that while in the home, Wardlow “smoked methamphetamine” several times. When he went back outside to get more methamphetamine, the victim stated she ran outside and contacted police.
Police say they arrived and made contact with Wardlow, who was detained and placed into custody.
Wardlow was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail. He faces charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine), first-degree promoting contraband, first-degree unlawful imprisonment, drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of marijuana and fourth-degree assault (no visible injury).
