Glasgow man arrested on drug charges after traffic stop

GLASGOW, Ky. – A Glasgow man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop.

According to the Glasgow Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop Saturday on West Water Street due to a vehicle failing to have a back license plate illuminated.

Police say they made contact with the driver, identified as 39-year-old Randy Claxton of Glasgow.

While outside of his vehicle, police say Claxton dropped a bag of cocaine on the ground. Officers say they also found methamphetamine.

Claxton was arrested and charged with failure to or improper signal, rear license plate not illuminated, first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (cocaine), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, first offense (methamphetamine) and no brake lights.

Claxton remains at the Barren County Detention Center.
