Bowling Green City Commission holds special retreat

Bowling Green’s City Commission came together Tuesday for a special retreat.

The special work session took place at the Sloan Convention Center.

The purpose was to discuss ideas and policy initiatives, as well as goals and objectives for the city of Bowling Green.

Some of the topics discussed included, public transit, parks and playgrounds, the homeless and downtown development.

"Generally, our regular meetings are real formal," said, Mayor Bruce Wilkerson. "It’s not really conducive to back and forth discussions that we have here. Today, the staff comes out and it’s kind of like a show and tell work session all day long."

There was no formal action taken by the commissioners at the retreat.
