BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Two men are facing charges after a string of vehicle break-ins in Bowling Green.

According to the Bowling Green Police Department, early Friday, officers responded to a report of individuals breaking into vehicles in the McFadin Station/Cherry Blossom Road area.

Officers say they located multiple vehicles with either open doors or broken windows.

During the pursuit, police say one of the men dropped his cell phone.

Officers say they examined the phone’s lock screen and recognized one of the men as someone known to frequent a residence on Regis O’Connor Boulevard. Police say they located 18-year-old Troy Brannon of Bowling Green and questioned him about the vehicle break-ins.

Authorities say information gathered during the investigation led officers to 19-year-old Kason Stanton of Bowling Green.

During a search of Stanton, officers say they found a handgun in his pocket. Officers say they gained consent to search his room, where another handgun was located, along with items stolen from multiple vehicles.

Authorities say reports have been taken involving more than 25 vehicles.

Both men were arrested and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.

Stanton is charged with receiving stolen property (firearm), theft by unlawful taking – contents from a vehicle and third-degree fleeing or evading police.
