Emergency Management rescues motorists from floodwaters in Simpson County

FRANKLIN, Ky. – A water rescue was conducted in Simpson County on Thursday morning.

Simpson County Office of Emergency Management says it responded to a vehicle stalled in floodwaters at 5:40 am. According to officials, this occurred

at the intersection of Witt Rd. and Kummer Rd.

The agency says a motorist drove past orange barrels and attempted to drive through impassable waters.

Emergency management asks motorists to turn around, don’t drown. They say the barrels are in place to keep individuals and first responders safe.
